8Adventures is a leading tour operator in Chiang Mai and our choice for white water rafting. The 10km trip is their signature rafting tour with a great Class III-IV rapid section on the Mae Taeng River, located 90 minutes north of the city. From our river camp there is a short 15 minute drive to “Sop Kai” village.
After a full safety briefing, the adventure begins with the first 3 Km of exciting Class III rapids through lush jungle and amazing scenery. The upper section is gorgeous with a few fun rapids to warm up in before arriving at the top of the main Class IV section. Here everyone comes alive and gets ready for the white water rafting that follows. The guides will check in with each other and give the signal to go as all boats drop into the first class IV rapid. The class IV section is non-stop action. Follow your guide’s commands as you charge forward though many rewarding class IV rapids. At the bottom everyone gives a paddle high five and celebrates a job well done, completing the most exciting section of rapids in northern Thailand. But the fun is not done ~ you still have more Class III action and a scenic paddle back down to 8Adventures camp. Don’t be surprised to see an elephant while floating down this spectacular scenic section of river!

Tour Plan
08.00am - 08.30am - Hotel pick up
Pick up from your hotel / accommodation in the city limits and transfer to the white water rafting site.
10.00am - Welcome and Introduction
Arrive at 8Adventures and welcome and introduction with the team.
10.15am - Transfer to start of white water rafting
The journey is about to start! We drive the short distance to the start of the journey.
10.30am - Start the rafting
After a safety briefing we start the white water rafting.
13.00pm - Finish the 10km river journey and arrive back at 8Advenutres
After exhilarating white water rafting on class 3 and 4 rapids we arrive at 8Adventures for lunch.
14.00pm Finish lunch and transfer back to city.
After a tasty lunch, water, coffee / tea we will travel back to Chiang Mai.
15.30pm - 16.00pm Hotel drop off
We drop you off at your accommodation and conclude the tour.
